    At G.James, we pride ourselves on our comprehensive in-house Toolshop services, catering to the design, fabrication, and maintenance needs of our Australian manufacturing endeavours. Our skilled team of Toolmakers and Fitters & Turners are adept at crafting and repairing tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures with utmost precision, ensuring seamless support for our production machinery.

    We are currently in search of an Apprentice Fitter Toolmaker (Fitter and Turner) to join our Aluminium Products Toolroom in Eagle Farm. This role offers the opportunity to work full-time while pursuing a Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade). Recent School graduates are encouraged to apply.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain high standards of workmanship in line with company protocols
    • Assist in the manufacturing of extrusion die components utilising various CNC and manual operations
    • Utilise precision measuring equipment to ensure component accuracy
    • Adhere to procedures to uphold quality standards

    Ideal Candidate Profile:

    • Passion for tools and machinery with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
    • High proficiency in mathematics and strong mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings
    • Previous exposure to heavy machinery environments preferred
