The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness.

We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role


We are seeking a values-driven ACT Homelessness Case Manager who will provide Case Management support to all cohorts experiencing or at risk of Homelessness, as per the TSA case management framework and TSA policies and procedures.

The role is focused on supporting individuals to achieve housing stability, improve social inclusion, connection to support systems and the wider community.

You will successfully

  • Conducting comprehensive assessment via telephone or facetoface, to determine appropriate course of action/support for clients.
  • Tailoring case plans according to each client's needs and updated according to each contact/consultation as per the clients goals and aspirations
  • Maintaining current knowledge of services for referral, advocacy and information for clients to relevant internal or external agencies.
  • Developing strong network of services within TSA (such as through participation in Hub meetings and activities) and externally with community housing partners, real estate agents etc.
  • Attend promptly to all administrative requirements including SAMIS/CIMS notes and development and updating of client plans.
This is a permanent, part-time (22.8hrs per week) position located in Fyshwick, ACT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the

You will have

  • Tertiary or other qualifications within community services, social work or related discipline (minimum Diploma Level, working toward a degree)
  • 2+ years' experience and working knowledge of the community services sector in NSW with a specific emphasis on homelessness (including issues, trends, resources and services etc.).
  • Experience working according to the principals of Trauma Informed Practice
  • Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to develop and tailor programs to meet clients' needs
  • Experience of working with an inclusive practice, including with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, women, men & families is highly desirable
  • Current (employee) Working with Children Check
  • Current Driver's license is required
  • Current senior first aid certificate
