The Villawood Pathways Recovery program takes place in the Villawood community hub.

The program is designed to be culturally and spiritually sensitive and incorporates a trauma-informed model of care to assist individuals recovering from alcohol and drug problems.

The program provides a holistic approach and addresses other areas of wellbeing through mindfulness and meaningful activities. As each individual is unique and so is the treatment.

We adapt our approach to meet your personal goals and together we will come to identify the process that best serves you.

We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Outreach Worker, reporting to the Villawood Team Leader.

You will provide leadership and support for the Communities of Hope outreach work at Villawood based at 7 Urana St.

This is a fixed-term, part-time 22.8 hours per week position.

You will successfully

  • Provide support and organise activities with a view to building healthy relationships
  • Provide a supportive place where residents can problemsolve and work through difficulties with practical matters
  • Take responsibility for leadership of planned events when the team leader is away
  • Support education and training by leading and assisting with activities such as PLP
  • Record statistics and tell the stories of the ministry via social media and SAMIS type mechanisms
  • Attend team meetings and network effectively with other agencies such as FACS and the Woodville Alliance.
You will have

  • Minimum 12 months experience in community services work
  • A commitment to the Christian faith.
An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel

  • An understanding of financial difficulties, homelessness, substance use disorders, mental health etc
  • A current drivers' licence
  • A Working with Children check
  • A willingness to undergo a National Police check
