About us


The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.

The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.


About the role


The Manager, Business Analytics will drive a range of strategic priorities in the areas of business analysis and organisational improvement including the delivery of related financial modelling activities and provide expert analysis of organisational needs and develop responsive strategies to drive continual business improvement and sustainability.


This is a hands-on delivery role requiring engagement with senior stakeholders and teams across the organisation to ensure thorough analysis and the timely development of evidence-based solutions.


  • Identify, develop and implement business optimisation and improvement initiatives and deliverables in alignment with the organisation's objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Provide expert analytical capability to undertake extensive data and information collection, analysis, and assessment of organisational needs
  • Develop associated change initiatives including providing advice, options and recommendations for progressing the necessary implementation activities.
  • Develop and document plans and activities for each phase of key projects and track key activities and outcomes.
  • The ability to influence key stakeholders through consultation and negotiation, and effectively contribute to cross functional decision making.
  • Provide expert stakeholder engagement, management and communications throughout the project lifecycle by building and sustaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare and present well informed, high quality, accurate and timely reports, briefs and papers on matters relating to the delivery of the work program.
  • Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks or issues affecting successful implementation of the project/s.

About you

  • Extensive experience in business analytics and optimisation of organisational functions and activities.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of effective organisational change practices aligned to best practice.
  • Proven experience in providing evidence based and innovative solutions in a complex environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to facilitate constructive engagement processes and gain cooperation amongst diverse stakeholders with competing interests.
