Position Information:

Holroyd High School is a small, successful comprehensive high school with a current enrolment of 481 students 7-12, including 86% non-English speaking backgrounds.

The school has a strong focus on Visible Learning and high expectations in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment which enables all students to grow and progress as learners.

Holroyd High School has a strong focus on technology with a 1:1 student to laptop ratio, SMART Board in each learning space and a newly constructed Virtual Reality lab powered by Lumination Labs.

The school has an Intensive English Centre for newly arrived students of non-English speaking background and a support unit for students with an intellectual disability and/or autism.

The school receives equity funding to support students from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach careers or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in the Careers Adviser qualifications approved by the New South Wales Department of Education.

Demonstrate knowledge of career pathways and strong organisational skills to coordinate School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT), tertiary education, TVET courses and work experience including structured workplace training for students.

Well-developed interpersonal skills to initiate, implement, manage and evaluate all aspects of successful careers options and transition pathways in conjunction with our Wellbeing Team.

Ability to initiate and strengthen new and existing partnerships between the school, industry and outside agencies.

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Careers Adviser qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
