About the Role

The purpose of this role is to facilitate integration of culturally sensitive practice into clinical service provision for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families who receive service from Evolve Therapeutic Services.

This will include the development and promotion of strategic networks with our key partner agencies that include government, non-government and private sector stakeholders.

This team is part of an interagency response to the therapeutic and behaviour support needs of children and young people in out of home care with complex and severe mental health needs.


  • Undertake cultural assessments for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people that are referred to Evolve Therapeutic Services, as per procedural guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team by providing culturally specific input and advice to aide in the development of culturally informed mental health assessments and treatment plans.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with key partner agencies to enable effective and collaborative practice between Evolve Therapeutic Services and our stakeholders, that meet the cultural and mental health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people.
  • A Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care is mandatory. Applicants who are working towards completion of this qualification may be considered for appointment to a lower classification.
  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
