Due to an internal promotion, Randwick City Council's Information Management and Technology (IMT) Services Department is seeking an Administration Officer to provide support for procurement, asset tracking, logistics and administration.

This role is critical to the success of the team as it ensures that other team members have access to the software, hardware, spare parts and consumables they need to do their roles effectively and efficiently, to maximise the benefit to the Randwick community.

The IMT team is supporting Council to become digital first in its delivery of services to the community.

In this role you can also develop your skills and progress to other roles both in technology and in financial and procurement functions elsewhere in Council.

To best support the team, this role is based in Council's Administration Centre in Randwick.

Council offers flexibility based on your circumstances, offers a nine day per fortnight work pattern, health and wellbeing days and additional leave entitlements, access to fitness passport and novated lease services as well as training and professional development for up to five days per year.

Council will also sponsor your training in the ITIL framework for IT service management which is an industry recognised qualification.

  • Your relevant experience in administration, procurement or asset management roles
  • An understanding of procurement processes such as procure to pay lifecycle
  • Commercial understanding to manage vendors and suppliers of goods and services including quotin
  • An ability to maintain asset records in a systemic way
  • Your relationship skills to connect with staff in the IMT department and key enablers across Council.

Things you will do:


  • Facilitate the procurement of $6 million in products and services for the Department through the procurement lifecycle.
  • Maintain and track registers of issued devices such as laptops and mobile phones, and manage changes to these registers
  • Coordinate deliveries and logistics across the department
  • Provide general assistance to the IMT Manager and other leaders in the team with scheduling meetings, workshops and team activities
  • Log and manage requests with external providers such as printer service jobs
  • On occasion provide relief support to the Service Desk team to ensure effective coverage.
