Chandler Macleod is currently recruiting for an experienced a

APS2/3 Compliance Officer to join a leading Federal Government agency. This is a 3-month contract with possible extension located in the Sydney CBD.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyse, assess and advise on regulated business participation in energy markets in a timely way
Research, interpret and assess potential contraventions of energy laws and rules in accordance with Agency's processes
Contribute to the development and implementation of riskbased compliance initiatives
Under guidance, draft less complex written material including correspondence, minutes, briefings, guidelines, advice and submissions on compliance issues, Committee and Board papers
Keep accurate, thorough, and functional records, including capturing documents in information management systems and updating investigation management systems and reports
Liaise with Agency's staff, Agency's Board and senior managers, energy market participants, government (federal and state/territory), consumer groups and other stakeholders
Work flexibly as part of a team and independently, across multiple projects in a geographically dispersed work environment.

The following job-specific criteria are highly desirable:

knowledge and demonstrated experience developing and implementing risk-based compliance programs, preferably within a government regulatory environment

- knowledge or understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of the Australian energy sector and the role, purpose, and objectives of the Agency
- tertiary qualifications in law, economics / commerce, public policy, engineering, or related fields.
