The Consumer Manager role will lead, advance and manage the Health, Beauty & Pets (HBP) categories within the Consumables line of business (LOB) for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) cluster, delivering on commercial and strategic objectives.


This role will also support the Senior Commercial Manager in New Business development and contribute towards commercial goals of the division, by delivering compelling merchandise at retail and enriching consumers' experiences.


  • This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Areas of Responsibility:

Commercial

  • Delivery of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets across HBP categories, licensees and retailers across all Walt Disney Company brands (Disney, LucasFilm, Marvel, 21st Century Studios, National Geographic).
  • Manage licensee's financial reporting within the required quarterly timelines.
  • Lead contractual management and renewal discussions with support from Finance.

Category management and development

  • Build and develop strategic plans for sustainable category growth across HBP categories.
  • Partner management and development of strong business relationships with licensees and business managers through regular joint business planning sessions and open dialogue.
  • Cultivate strong retail relationships and demonstrate in depth understanding of retail ways of working to support category growth (Grocery and Pharmacy).
  • Identify and focus on unlocking new product category and distribution channel opportunities across all consumer segments.
  • Demonstrate and champion operational effectiveness by making timely, insightbased, solution oriented decisions

New Business Development

  • Develop clear, insight and data driven strategies that deliver on new business roadmap and vision.
  • Proactively look for new opportunities and challenge the status quo.
  • Set out clear rationale and context for new business recommendations.
  • Effective pitch building that delivers clear, compelling and visually impactful narrative.

Skills Required:


  • Demonstrable experience in brand management, commercial responsibility, and new business development.
- +5 years' experience in a fast paced, constantly changing industry with client facing/client management remit.

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Existing retailer relationships are beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Effectively manage projects, processes, and resources to produce desired outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Well versed in new business planning and strong commercial acumen contractual & finance literacy, budget building, negotiation etc.
  • Strong relationship building skills, flexible/adaptable able to collaborate and influence at all levels of an organisation, internally and externally.
  • Selfstarter with proactive drive for commercial outcomes.
  • Strong computer skills especially MS office Suite (Mac & PC).
  • Enthusiastic, optimistic and energetic approach to work and challenges.
