Position Information


Mount Druitt Public School, situated on Darug land, is located in Western Sydney and is part of the Blacktown Local Government Area.

It is situated in the Eastern Creek network of schools.

Our student population is 554.

Students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with 5% of students identifying as Aboriginal and 70% from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD).

Mount Druitt Public School has three support classes, an Early Intervention Unit and two Multi Categorical classes with a focus on inclusion and challenging students to reach their full potential.

Two Preschool classes cater for 40 full time children.

Each child is valued and respected as a unique, capable and competent learner and encouraged to participate in play through all aspects of our preschool program.


Specific Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach primary English as a Second Language and/or currently completing or currently enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language primary as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.
  • Willingness to teach SPO Sport
  • Ability to lead professional learning and data informed practices within classrooms through demonstrated deep knowledge of the EAL/D Learning Progressions and ESL Scales.
  • Willingness to support and deliver culturally inclusive initiatives to engage the student, staff and school community to enhance positive home /school partnerships.
  • Evidence of outstanding collaborations and wellbeing practices that support the creation of positive learning environments within different learning contexts across the school.
