About the Opportunity


The primary purpose of the Assistant Manager is to provide advice on matters of the National Redress Scheme through the provision of legal analysis, research and advice to ensure the South Australian Government meets its requirements in responding to formal and informal requests from the Commonwealth Operator of the National Redress Scheme, and that the interests of the South Australian Government are appropriately represented.

Duties of the Assistant Manager includes the settling of responses to Requests for Information (RFI) drafted by Paralegal and Legal Officers within the SRRU, providing in-house legal advice and preparation of opinions regarding complex legal and policy issues relating to the National Redress Scheme.

The Assistant Manager will also provide support to the Manager of the SRRU, as well as provide supervision of staff and direct reports.


About the Business


The Attorney-General's Department (AGD) supports the State Redress Response Unit ("SRRU"), which coordinates the participation of the South Australian Government in the National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse ("the National Redress Scheme").


Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.

Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
