About this role
We are looking for a
Principal Policy Officer, Program Support Unit to join the Regional Health Division.


The Regional Health Division is responsible for providing advice to the Minister for Regional Health, Minister for Health and Secretary, NSW Health on matters concerning regional, rural and remote health.

The Division will provide advocacy for issues across the regional health environment, and identify opportunities to enhance local access to health and other social services that support quality health outcomes.


The Principal Policy Officer
will lead and manage the program support unit to develop, deliver, monitor and evaluate a portfolio of strategic projects, to achieve project outcomes, and support the achievement of NSW Health's objectives in relation to regional and rural health and matters relevant to the portfolio of the Regional Health Division.

Part of this role will include coordinating the risk, quality, and progress of projects to organisational standards, and ensure project milestones are delivered on time, on budget, and within agreed scope.


Crown Clerk 11/12, salary from $134,411 - $155,445 plus Super and annual leave loading

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of a portfolio of projects, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to maximise efficiencies and achieve required organisation outcomes
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of project development and implementation across a portfolio of complex projects to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to quality
  • Develop and implement strategies for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of projects to identify and address issues and assess project progress and overall effectiveness
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through effective communication, and negotiation
  • Provide expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging project issues and present recommendations to support project delivery in line with established plans, budgets, time frames, policy objectives and other project priorities
