Job Summary
As the Lead Consumer / Retail Analyst, you will model, analyse, write and market research on Australian-listed Consumer / Retail companies to domestic and global institutional investors.
What is the opportunity?
As the Lead Consumer / Retail Analyst, you will model, analyse, write and market research on Australian-listed Consumer / Retail companies to domestic and global institutional investors.
What will you do?
- Build financial models and write detailed, action orientated research reports, with the appropriate level of due diligence, including management meetings and discussions with industry contacts
- Analyse and maintain timely research on ~15 Australian Consumer / Retail companies
- Discuss your analyses / findings with domestic and global clients and with RBC's sales and trading teams
- Visit company management teams, operations, sites domestically and if permitted globally
- Contribute to building RBC Capital Markets brand through high quality research insights and marketing
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- University level education preferably in business, commerce, finance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Consumer / Retail sector in a capital markets research environment
- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
- Ability to deal with high pressure, stressful situations and meet deadlines
- Ability to quickly summarise factual information and market releases and communicate to clients and key partners
- Confidence to interact professionally external institutional and corporate clients and internally with RBC research team and research partners
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Word and Excel spreadsheet proficiency
- Ability to use financial and market data platforms (e.g Factset, Bloomberg)
Nice-to-have
- Minimum of 10 years of total experience preferred
- Post graduate business or technical degree and / or CFA preferred
- Prior research, buyside or corporate experience
