Your new team:


  • Orygen Specialist Program, a program of The Royal Melbourne Hospital, pro0vides mental health services to young people aged soon to be and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.
  • The Orygen Continuing Care Team in Sunshine and Wyndham provide access to outpatient community care by a multidisciplinary team ensureing comprehensive, collaborative and coordinated care.

Your new role:


In this role, you will offer support to families, friends and carers of young people in the Wyndam and Melton areas.


In this role, you will also:

  • Draw on your Lived Experience of supportinf your family memeber of significant other and offer empathetic listening, providing peer support and information.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide lived experience specific values and perspective
  • Have a broad understanding of the differing perspectives of the impact of mental illness health on families/carers and the community
  • Provide inclusive and sensitive practice to young people and their families/carers from Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds

About you:


  • Personal lived experience as a family, carer ir supporter of someone who has accessed public mental health services, preferably a youth mental health service.
  • Are determined to make a difference to the health outcomes for young people
  • Qualifications/training in mental health are desirable but not essential.
