The Opportunity
The Faculty of Art Design and Architecture has a rewarding opportunity for the position of Department Manager of Architecture.

In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with providing governance services, operational management, and specialist advice to drive the progress of the Architecture department and Faculty's objectives.

A critical aspect of your responsibilities will be serving as the vital link between the Faculty and the University's administrative functions, ensuring that departmental needs are effectively addressed.

As the Department Manager, your duties will encompass operationalising strategic and business plans, while skilfully managing the department's physical, IT, and administrative resources.

This will involve overseeing day-to-day operations, resource allocation, workload supervision for direct reports, and ensuring efficient maintenance of the department's infrastructure and space utilisation.

Additionally, you will provide guidance and supervision to the Department Administrative Officer, facilitating seamless support for the Head of Department in various administrative tasks, correspondence, and adherence to university policies and faculty procedures.

An integral aspect of this role is maintaining compliance with resource-related legislation and university policies, including a strong focus on Occupational Health and Safety.

You will be actively involved in monitoring departmental budgets and collaborating closely with the Head of Department to ensure prudent financial management of operating and other funds.
