We are seeking an experienced and proactive Category Specialist to join our Procurement team.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, the main focus of this role is to manage the logistics portfolio, however, the role may also encompass other strategic categories such as process chemicals & reagents, coal, utilities, fuel, and product warehousing.
- This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Iluka's new and exciting projects and play a key role in the development of an overarching logistics strategy for the business. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team that values agility, resilience, and innovation.
Key elements of the role include:
- Collaborating with our Contracts Officers and cross-functional teams to complete detailed category analysis and implement category strategies across Iluka for our logistics portfolio and other strategic categories.-
- Developing supply relationship plans and implementing SRM for the duration of contracts.-
- Ensuring detailed supplier evaluations are completed and the selection of appropriate suppliers that provide value to Iluka.-
- Identifying and leading process and cost improvement initiatives.-Providing input into total cost of ownership analyses for projects, and major supply requirements. This includes evaluating the cost of acquisition of the materials and services, the cost of maintaining, and the cost of sustaining.
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary Degree or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.-
- Demonstrated experience with the development and delivery of category plans.-
- Category management and strategic sourcing experience within the resources sector (highly desirable)-
- Strong knowledge of commercial and competition legislation across the different states of Australia.-
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.-
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.-
- Highly developed influencing & negotiation skills.
