The Company


This is a global, market leading, privately owned, industrial distribution organisation that has undergone significant growth both organically and through acquisition in recent years.

This critical General Manager position will be responsible for managing the WA business.


The Role


This is a critical leadership position which has full P&L responsibility with time split across: Business Development and Account Management with customers, managing the team in addition to operational responsibilities including supply chain, service delivery and inventory.


Key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the business requirements for operational P&L responsibility for each respective branch.
  • Review and develop the business model for the operations.
  • Ensuring growth in revenue is consistent with Board expectations.
  • Ensuring a consistent approach both internally and externally in line with Board expectations.
  • Directing all operational aspects including distribution, customer service, rental, administration and sales.
  • Providing training, coaching and development for employees. Increase the overall productivity by training, budgeting effectively and capturing growth opportunities.
  • Manage daily operations, especially customer service and finance activities and make improvements as needed.

Your Background
In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experienced Senior Business Leader with a strong sales background who can add value to the success of an industrial Branch operation through understanding of its key business drivers, the capacity to generate insights and the ability to predict future performance.
  • Proven Senior leadership experience with full profit and loss responsibility within the industrial distribution industry.
  • A track record of developing and executing business improvement initiatives, achieving positive, quantifiable outcomes and enhancing the customer experience in doing so.
  • A history of successfully leading teams to higher levels of performance while maintaining a positive culture in which people feel engaged.
  • Ideally, experience in privatelyowned businesses, including engaging with owners and board members.
