About our Client:
Over 40 years' experience, specialising in mining services, civil engineering, earthmoving, infrastructure, quarrying and marine services, operating throughout Australia and overseas.
About the role:
- Join the client directly as a Workshop Manager, supervising the metro workshop and remote site field service personnel.
- Oversee the repairs and scheduled maintenance on a daily basis of the company's heavy earthmoving, truck, light equipment and motor vehicle fleet.
- Ensure compliance and safe work environment in line with the company's QHSE system.
- Monitor machine daily fault sheets from all sites.
- Ensure that all workshop and field service personnel comply with company's scheduled oil sampling system (SOS).
- Ensure that all specialised equipment and tooling is calibrated in accordance with the company's Quality System.
- Process all equipment and maintenance related warranty claims in accordance with QHSE procedure.
- Review and approve all requisitions submitted, identifying effective cost solutions in collaboration with Purchasing Department and Management.
- Travel regularly to remote operational sites to review, audit and report sitebased maintenance operations.
- Run fortnightly workshop meetings.
- Oversee the upkeep and correct operation of the company's electronic maintenance records (Maintenance Database).
About you:
- Proven ability to manage, supervise and provide leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience and skills in liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution with personnel at all levels.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational skills including the capacity to set priorities and work to deadlines.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft desktop software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to manage and communicate with all maintenance / workshop personnel in a professional manner.
- High level problem solving skills and research/analytical ability including the ability to obtain and interpret information and make specific recommendations.
- Experience in workshop management in similar industry desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining quality systems.
- Plant Mechanic Trade background (desirable)
- Valid driver licence.
