Operations Supervisor - Sportsfield Turf
Citywide is recruiting for an experienced
Operations Supervisor to lead the team delivering
sportsfield turf requirements for our Bayside City Council contract.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate all sportsfield turf management and maintenance activities including cyclic renovations.
- Plan works on a day to day basis.
- Ensure that all allocated sites are serviced in line with contract specifications, quality standards and schedules.
- Ensure public safety and the environment is not compromised.
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, mowers, plant equipment and tools required for sportsfield mowing, sports ground maintenance and turf regeneration work.
- Program and operation of irrigation systems.
- Ensure the team has relevant training, competencies, licences, processes and equipment to carry out the tasks.
- Ensure sportsgrounds booked for events or sports are available for use.
- Maintain accurate records of all turf works performed and record all inspections, condition ratings and maintenance works.
- Prepare a range of detailed and technical reports on turf maintenance works undertaken as well as technical plans detailing delivery of proposed activities.
- Undertake fault finding, investigation and research to provide solutions for a range of sports turf related issues.
- Attend meetings as required with clients, events, contractors, capital and third party works.
- Manage relationships between Citywide and the client to ensure delivery of contractual obligations.
- Manage all financial aspects of the assigned work team.
- Provide input into development of annual budget, including identification of capital requirements.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels and work within allocated budget for purchase of materials and an to engage contractors.
- Ensure that time and attendance for the team is in line with budget.
- Quote and deliver additional variation work.
- Accountable for ensuring works are performed to the required safety and quality standards and record incidents and near misses.
- Ensure all employee issues are identified and actioned in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring regular meetings are held across the work team.
- Proactively build and maintain a positive culture.
Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- Cert III Sports Turf Management and/or the equivalent experience in Turf or Horticulture
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of MS Office packages
- Experience with task scheduling and planning
- Experience in proactively leading a positive safety culture
- Understanding and operating within, and reporting on budgets
- Experience leading a team
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers
- Drivers Licence
- MR Licence (Desirable)
- Chem Cert
- First Aid
- Traffic Management
- Working with Children Check
