Based in our Parramatta offices, our Commercial Package - Underwriter will be supporting our brokerage clients and will play a key role in developing client relationships.

Reporting into the Team Leader, Commercial Packages you will be responsible for:

  • Underwriting motor insurance risks, for a panel of Brokers ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Manage the efficient turnaround of quotations, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
  • Establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with customers and service providers, including reinsurers.
  • Resolution and ownership of problem solving including following through with resolutions and having open communication with Brokers.
  • Ensure all enquiries, complaints, opportunities are responded to quickly and effectively.
  • Align business offering with divisional objectives, portfolio balance and Cycle Management strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices by participating in business related industry forms and working groups.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven expertise in the insurance sector, specifically in underwriting, with a successful track record of managing and assessing risks.
  • ANZIIF qualification, Tier 2 qualification in insurance, finance, or a related field
  • Handson experience working with Brokers and the ability to build strategic relationships to drive business outcomes and targets.
  • Customerfocused mindset and the ability to partner with internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales and Claims) to support positive customers outcomes and problem solving.
  • A team player, who is collaborative and will share their expertise and knowledge for a best practice customer experience.
