About the role

A newly created position within our Infrastructure, Development and Delivery (IDD) Team has us seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to work within our Major Projects Team.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for delivering multiple water infrastructure engineering designs, planning and delivery services in a safe, efficient and compliant manner.

This role will work across a range of projects to support the team and wider business.

Responsibilities will include:

Working in partnership with Program Director or delegate to ensure project development and delivery meet or exceed project and stakeholder objectives.
Be accountable for compliant and technically considered engineered solutions through design, construction and handover to operation and maintenance for life of asset.
Drive the adoption and adherence to appropriate quality, safety and cost control systems.
Oversee and manage engineering risks to ensure mitigation plans are developed so as not to present uncalculated risk to the project or Sunwater through life of asset.
Compliance to technical specifications and drawings, ensuring work is undertaken and completed in accordance with specification and project schedules.
Management of technical progress meetings to ensure project milestones are achieved and deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
Assessment of tenders, variations, and other contractual agreements to ensure technical accuracy, suitability, and value for money.
Overseeing design processes performed by internal technical resources and providing RPEQ signoff where appropriate.
Contribute to the development of construction methods and temporary work; Managing technical queries, design changes, and the assessment of design impacts during construction.
Positively promote and actively role model the Sunwater values and behaviours to support the delivery of our services.

About you

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 15 years' experience in Water Infrastructure or Dam Engineering and hold a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

Previous experience in a Senior engineering position involved in the planning, investigation, design and delivery of water infrastructure.
Experience with the following; pumps, piping, concrete material; batching, delivery, pouring, testing, dam foundations, passive and stressed anchors, embankments and quarries is desirable.
Innovative thinking and adapting, as necessary, to resolve issues, ensure the management of project risks and opportunities, and negotiate successful project outcomes.
RPEQ or ability to obtain (Desirable)
