The Role
ASD is a vital member of Australia's national security community. We work across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies.

This includes intelligence, cyber security and offensive cyber operations in support of the Australian Government and the Australian Defence Force.


The Australian Signal Directorate is looking for highly motivated leaders to fill multiple vacancies for ASD4-6 Mission Assurance Officers within the Australian Cyber Security Centre's Cyber Security Resilience Division.

Cyber Security Resilience Division engages with a diverse range of projects, system owners across the Whole of Australian Government, the National Intelligence Community, the Australian Defence Force and industry partners to assess cyber security risks and provide novel security advice.

As a member of the Division, you will be provided with on-the-job training and access to relevant industry courses and resources to grow your skillset.


Key Duties

As an ASD4, 5 & 6 Mission Assurance Officer you will be a curious, motivated self-starter responsible for program support and delivery including actively managing key stakeholder relationships.

You will be willing to work collaboratively and provide timely and accurate advice on behalf of the Section.


You will possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrated ability to think outside of the box through designing and implementing initiatives that will build on the staff capabilities of the Branch.

You will have utilised and be able to demonstrate the competencies required at the ASD4, 5 & 6 levels to effectively and efficiently deliver outcomes for an organisation and for mission specialists.

ASD4 Mission Assurance Officer

  • Understands the work environment and contributes to the development of plans, strategies and team goals.
  • Provide in depth administrative support to the Section on finance, procurement and budgetary management activities.
  • Identify issues and problems that may impact work objectives.
  • Provide coordination of executive level branch tasking's. Have the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast paced and busy environment; prioritising competing tasks and managing time accordingly.
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Support and coordinate the drafting of written executive communications including parliamentary and ministerial briefs
  • Effectively coordinate workflow of group inbox and records management and other Section tasks, as required.
  • Has the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative matters.

ASD5 Mission Assurance Officer

  • Understands the work environment and contributes to the development of plans, strategies and team goals.
  • Identifies broader influences that may impact on the team's work objectives.
  • Prepare Section input on finance, procurement and budget management activities.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously, managing priorities and completing key tasking's within set timeframes.
  • Demonstrate welldeveloped conceptual, analytical and problemsolving skills, together with strong attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate resilience with the ability to react quickly, flexibly and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Works independently or under limited guidance in relation to their area of expertise.
  • Coordinate and review strategic correspondence including parliamentary minutes and briefs, ensuring timely handling of requests for data and information to meet deadlines.
  • Project/program management skills including designing and implementing learning and development initiatives.
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues. Responds to stakeholder needs and expectations.

ASD6 Mission Assurance Officer

  • Prepare Section input on complex finance, procurement and budget management activities.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills including a proven ability to supervise and provide guidance to a team.
  • Plan shorttomedium term objectives, working towards achieving longterm goals.
  • Produce quality work in situations where guidance is limited.
  • Identifies broader factors, trends and influences that may impact on the team's work objectives.
