Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA), a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group, is seeking a motivated individual who will be responsible for the effective planning, management and delivery of MESHA programs.

About the role


Reporting to the Associate Director, MESHA, the Program Coordinator oversees the effective delivery of a range of MESHA programs including managing the budgets, associated communications, program participants, facilitators and scheduling.

Additionally, you will work closely with the research team to support the evidence base for program development and effectiveness.


To be successful in this role you will be passionate about engaging with audiences and proactively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.


Role responsibilities include:


  • Provide support for the lived experience workforce including being a point of escalation to provide wellbeing support and opportunities for debriefing.
  • Identify, inform of and proactively manage program risks.
  • Support and promote the national growth of MESHA through the development and maintenance of new opportunities and ongoing relationships with key industry stakeholders in liaison with the Associate Director.
  • Work with marketing and communications teams at THRF Group to support effective promotion and advocacy for our programs.

About you
To be successful in the role you will ideally have:

  • Tertiary (University or TAFE) qualified in one or more of the following disciplines: health or human service management (preferably mental health), social science, social work, community development, counselling, mental health nursing, psychology.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in program and/or project management in an
educational, health, business, or not-for-profit context.

  • Previous experience (whether professional or personal) with military, veterans, police, or emergency services context (desirable).
  • Experience working within a mental health paradigm.
  • Working knowledge of trauma informed care and practice.
  • Understanding the unique considerations when working with a lived experienced workforce (desirable).
  • Comprehension of the needs of current or former military or emergency services personnel (desirable).
  • High integrity and commitment to valuesbased service delivery.
  • Resilience, with a demonstrated ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • High emotional intelligence and selfawareness.
