The FIG TREES Disability Services is a group of professionals who have extensive knowledge about NDIS, passion to support people with psycho-social disabilities to achieve goals that are important to them, and strong commitment to social justice and clients' choice and control.

We are looking for disability support workers to work in a wide range of locations depending on our clients' bases; there are currently high demands in Southern Suburbs, SA


Requirements:


  • Minimum Certificate III in Disability or equivalent qualification.
  • Current driver's License
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or equivalent DHS Disability Clearance
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Police Clearance or Police Check
  • Medication Administration Certificate (preferred).
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Current NDIS COVID19 Certificate.
  • Manual Handling
  • COVID Vaccination including booster
  • Own your own car and have Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in the mental health is desirable.
  • Experience with working with people with disability is desirable

Your Responsibilities

  • Assisting participants to perform their daily activities.
  • Facilitating daily hygiene and personal care tasks: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
  • Domestic assistance: light housework (cleaning, laundry and meal preparation)
  • Implementation of daily therapy programs
  • Transporting participants to appointments and social activities as required.
  • Assist with social outings and therapy sessions
  • Respite and overnight support
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to commit long term, with consistency and patience
  • Work as part of a team whilst also working alone at times and working within the client's family
  • Supporting and encouraging informal networks and relationships.
  • Implementing and monitoring Behavioural Management Strategies from Plans.
  • Empowering participants with learning and skill development.

From $30.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
  • Public holidays
  • Shift work
  • Weekend availability

Experience:


  • Working with people with disability: 1 year (preferred)

Language:


  • Vietnamese (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Working with Children Check (preferred)
  • National Police Certificate (preferred)
  • Driver Licence (preferred)
  • NDIS Worker Check (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

  • Australia (preferred)
