Want to get your foot in the door at one of Australia's top employers? Staffmax is hiring experienced Accounts Payable Officers for our client in the agriculture and seed processing business.


Job Summary:


The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for managing the payment process and ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds to vendors and suppliers.

This role involves processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.

The Accounts Payable Officer will work closely with other members of the finance team and liaise with suppliers to resolve any payment-related issues.


Responsibilities:


Invoice Processing:
Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices and expense claims for payment.

Payments:
Prepare and execute payment runs, ensuring vendors are paid on time and in accordance with established terms.

Reconciliation:
Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Vendor Management:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, handling inquiries and resolving payment-related concerns.

Data Entry:
Accurately input financial data into the accounting system.

Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting regulations and tax laws.

Reporting:
Generate accounts payable reports as required by management.

Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or diplomas in accounting may also be considered.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role is beneficial.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with accounting principles and practices, as well as understanding of accounts payable processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and invoices.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
