What are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated Machine Operator to be a part of the growing and dedicated Southern Cross Water team.
Located in Withcott and reporting to the Production Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out routine tasks as part of the production line for the manufacture of water tanks.
They will have a strong understanding of safety practices and value the importance of being a team player.What we want you to do
- Operate a variety of machines and equipment and ensure they are kept in good working order;
- Read drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications;
- Markout, cut/drill/punch holes as required for material in accordance with fabrication drawings;
- Layout, position, align and assemble components together in accordance with fabrication drawings and tolerances;
- Mechanically cut steel from fabrication drawings;
- Measure and cut raw materials with straightedges and high accuracy;
- Work to deadlines and follow strict safety guidelines;
- Label and sort manufactured material into product groups;
- Move steel in workshop with overhead crane and forklift (where licensed and authorized);
- Safely and efficiently undertake other duties as instructed by Supervisors; Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of work areas and site work areas, equipment, tools and facilities.
Is this you?
- Previous experience in a similar role;
- Proven experience using reliable, safe work practices;
- Current drivers' licence;
- Flexible approach and cooperative team attitude;
- Motivated and willing to undertake any additional training;
- Ability to work competently and safely under pressure;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and have a strong initiative; Forklift Licence (desirable);
