The Team


The AEC Service Operations section of the Digital Technology Branch consists of the AEC Service Desk, Service Management, and ICT Change Management teams with a focus on the provision of high-quality services and operations to support the AEC.


The ICT Change Management team within the AEC Service Operations Section supports the AEC by leading the ICT change program, and incident and problem management functions.


The Opportunity


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ICT Change Manager and leader who will support the Director AEC Service Operations in the day-to-day operation of the ICT Change Management, incident and problem management.


The role is responsible for undertaking work that is very complex and/or sensitive in nature, under broad direction, utilising expertise and knowledge within the area of ICT change, incident and problem management.


To excel you'll have:

  • Experience in leading an ICT change management program, including chairing Change Approval Boards, facilitation of the forward schedule of changes and releases which includes delivery of organisation wide projects.
  • Ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, ensuring competing and key timeframes and communications targets are met with a strong focus on service delivery, people management, supporting a culture of quality change, release, incident and problem management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in actively communicating and managing key internal and external relationships across a geographically dispersed network, including collaborating with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation, with the aim to minimize impacts to the organisation as a result of changes, incidents and problems.
  • Proven ability to develop and actively support the identification, assessment, management, escalation, reporting and monitoring of risks, issues and benefits; including the development and implementation of treatment strategies to remediate risks.
  • Ability to provide timely and highquality analysis on project and day to day material, and develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures; and conduct regular audits for quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to analyse and identify areas for process, capability, and business improvement strategies and manage their implementation including working with the section and branch Assistant Directors to achieve a cohesive transition to service and improvement.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support the AEC's strategic direction.
