Our paediatric specialist practice in Coorparoo (Brisbane) is searching for a forward-thinking dental assistant/receptionist with a current Certificate III in Dental Assisting who will enhance our dental team in delivering top quality care to our patients.
The patients we welcome range from newborn to late teens and the care we provide includes early childhood caries, developmental anomalies, special needs, anxiety concerns, emergency trauma, complex medical histories, and paediatric oral surgery.

Certificate III in Dental Assisting qualification, be self-motivated, have recent clinical experience and be up to date with infection control standards.
You must be comfortable and experienced in working with children of all ages and abilities, be well presented, have a warm, welcoming nature, fluent in English and be able to communicate well with patients, colleagues, and other health professionals.
We encourage our staff to work as a team to ensure that our practice runs effectively and efficiently.In addition to chair side assisting duties, you will be required to be able to attend to front desk duties, including answering the phones, making appointments, assisting with general inquiries, general administration duties and processing payments.
We regularly have patient lists for treatment under General Anaesthesia at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital and Herston Private Hospital.
Applicants must be able to obtain accreditation with each Hospital and be willing to provide dental assisting duties in theatre when required.
Applicants must be available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and have the availability to cover holiday and relief work, including Monday to Friday.
Requirements:

Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting. Experience as a Dental Assistant is recommended.

Ability to obtain accreditation with St Andrews War Memorial Hospital and Herston Private Hospital.

Hold a current Blue Card or be eligible to obtain a Paid Blue Card.

Must be ability to successfully complete a criminal history/police check.

Be able to provide up to date vaccinations and willing to obtain any necessary vaccinations required when working with children.

Current First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain before commencing employment.

Flexible availability to work within our practice needs.

Knowledge of set-up, infection control and sterilisation of instruments.

Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered to all patients.

Must be willing to learn all duties associated with the role including light reception duties, sterilisation and chair side assisting in both the clinic and hospital.
In addition, it is vital that you have a fun and outgoing personality, with a passion for children. You must be able to laugh at all things and see things from a child's perspective and provide dental education to childcares/education groups when required It will be an added advantage if able to put a train set togetherand pull one apart
Job Types:
Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 15-25 per week
Salary:
From $28.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay

Experience:
- Dental reception: 1 year (preferred)
