- Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering designs and feasibility studies.
- Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
- Deliver best practice technical solutions in accordance with project scope, timeframes and standards.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all Mechanical engineering project work, ensuring compliance with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works
- Preparation of package documentation to support equipment procurement including Scope of Works, Specifications, Data sheets and Technical Bid Evaluation of vendor submissions.
- Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research and development assignments.
- Familiar with standard discipline deliverables and work process on projects.
- Demonstrate initiative and basic leadership skills to give direction within a small work group.
- Deliver superior quality designs and deliverables that meet the technical schedule and budget requirements.
- Develop networks and relationships within teams, and to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders (such as estimating design hours).
- Monitor and remain within assigned budget and alert supervisor if the budget estimate will be exceeded.
- Opportunities to work on international projects with potential for site based construction support and commissioning secondments.
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering with eligibility and desire to pursue RPEQ accreditation
- 3 – 5 years post grad experience.
- Strong experience in engineering consulting (Minerals Processing) and EPC/EPCM projects in the mining and resources sectors.
- Experience with copper, gold, nickel or base metals is highly advantageous
- Design experience using S3D, Helix, Sidewinder, Rocky, Fluidflow etc. highly regarded
- Sound understanding of current codes and standards including Australian and ASME
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem solving and organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Project and / or site experience highly regarded
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally highly desirable
- Modern office – Recent fit out over 2 levels, located in Grey Street, South Brisbane. Excellent transport links with a short walk to South Brisbane train & bus stations.
