Our team is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in our Brisbane office.

About the role

• Contribute to the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering designs and feasibility studies.
• Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.
• Deliver best practice technical solutions in accordance with project scope, timeframes and standards.
• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all Mechanical engineering project work, ensuring compliance with conditions and parameters set out in project scope of works
• Preparation of package documentation to support equipment procurement including Scope of Works, Specifications, Data sheets and Technical Bid Evaluation of vendor submissions.
• Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates for conventional engineering, research and development assignments.
• Familiar with standard discipline deliverables and work process on projects.
• Demonstrate initiative and basic leadership skills to give direction within a small work group.
• Deliver superior quality designs and deliverables that meet the technical schedule and budget requirements.
• Develop networks and relationships within teams, and to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.
• Assist with the preparation of proposals and tenders (such as estimating design hours).
• Monitor and remain within assigned budget and alert supervisor if the budget estimate will be exceeded.
• Opportunities to work on international projects with potential for site based construction support and commissioning secondments.

About you

• Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering with eligibility and desire to pursue RPEQ accreditation
• 3 – 5 years post grad experience.
• Strong experience in engineering consulting (Minerals Processing) and EPC/EPCM projects in the mining and resources sectors.
• Experience with copper, gold, nickel or base metals is highly advantageous
• Design experience using S3D, Helix, Sidewinder, Rocky, Fluidflow etc. highly regarded
• Sound understanding of current codes and standards including Australian and ASME
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem solving and organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Project and / or site experience highly regarded
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally highly desirable
