Description

The role requires a strategic and creative thinker with demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluating communications and engagement activities, with a particular focus on digital/social media.

The role will lead a small team of digital and social media communications staff responsible for the delivery of the organisations social media channels and website, including digital advertising.

Knowledge of these areas and experience in developing and delivering social and digital communications strategies and activities will be important for this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a small team of communication professionals, to deliver strategic outcomes and priorities for the organisation
  • Provide strategic, timely and clientfocused advice, support and direction to senior Communications and Engagement staff, whilst guiding and influencing the work of Communications and Engagement team members
  • Manage organisation communication and engagement projects and their respective budgets, resources, or vendors ensuring liaison and consultation with key stakeholders
  • Develop, implement and evaluate strategic communications plans to support program deliverables
  • Design, produce, coordinate, edit and distribute high quality and engaging communications content across various media and content channels including briefing notes, blogs, news items, opinion pieces, media releases, speeches, web content, social media, evaluation reports and creative copy
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Work in partnership with other areas of HWQld to achieve corporate communication objectives
  • Actively participate in a team environment and contribute to a positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work, and understand the contributions their role plays in the success of business outcomes
  • Contribute to the effective management of HWQld by adhering to relevant financial management practices, quality management practices and public administration policies (related to right to information, risk management etc.)
