Manager Association and Corporate Governance

Full-Time

$180,648 per annum inclusive of superannuation

The Manager Association and Corporate Governance will lead and manage the Association's governance function, project manage WALGA's strategic and corporate planning cycle and contribute to policy analysis while managing advocacy and policy development in relation to strategic Local Government sector policy issues.

This role also has responsibility for the Building Services and Customer Service functions.

  • Lead the Association and Corporate Governance administration and building services teams.
  • Own and periodically review the Association's Constitution and Corporate Governance Charter.
  • Ensure compliance with the Constitution, Corporate Governance Charter, relevant laws and regulations while ensuring delivery of best practice contemporary governance and decision making processes.
  • Project Manage the Association's Strategic and Corporate Planning processes.
  • Coordinate the Association's response to high level strategic Local Government policy reforms and issues as they emerge.
  • Development of sector submissions and advocacy positions on Local Government structural and related reforms and other strategic Local Government sector issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of contemporary good governance principles and practices.
  • Detailed understanding of Local Government roles, responsibilities, structures and decision making processes.
  • Detailed knowledge of strategic and corporate planning principles and methods.
  • Detailed knowledge of best practice customer service and administration.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to encourage and enable team members to be high performers and deliver outcomes.
  • Excellent research, report preparation and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to timely and quality service delivery to meet high customer expectations.
