Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland government department to recruit a Principal Civil Designer contract to 30/06/2025 with possible extension based in the Brisbane CBD and working from home.

In the role of Principal Designer (Civil) you will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment to deliver civil design components of transport infrastructure projects.

You will also provide expert technical advice to Civil Designers, Civil Engineers and other stakeholders in alignment with industry and departmental standards and policies.

In this role you will:

Develop transport infrastructure civil design models in the strategic planning, concept and development phases of projects.
Ensure planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.
Peer review civil designs for transport infrastructure pojects.
Provide expert support and advice, including problem resolution, to various stakeholders on the planning and design process for successful completion of transport infrastructure projects.
Provide input to determine the resourcing, engineering requirements, critical components and systems involved in supporting project management and delivery of planning and design component projects.
Develop effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.
Use professional judgement to provide advice and support in relation to design processes ensuring projects meet technical design outcomes in areas where there is a lack of precedent.
Use initiative when implementing/using relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management is consistent with the required standards.
