Job Description:

Ability Action Australia are continuing to grow new multidisciplinary teams nationally.

We're now looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who has current suitability at the Proficient level for our team providing supports to participants living in the lower St George area, Sutherland shire, and Wollongong / Shellharbour / Nowra areas.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and personcentred planning
  • Evaluating, developing and delivering evidencebased support plans within a complex support space
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
  • Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives family, carers, friends, etc
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications:


To be considered suitable you will have:

  • Current suitability, as determined by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, at the 'Proficient' or above level as a Behaviour Support Practitoner
  • Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
To be successful in this role, you will be solution focused, highly organised and possess exceptional people skills. You will be passionate about what you do and pride yourself on delivering exceptional customer service.
