About the Opportunity


You will enrich the customer experience by providing positive, meaningful and relevant suggestions and referrals to help us create a city everyone can enjoy.

Some of the things you will see yourself doing with us are:

  • Providing professional customer service in our call centre.
  • Providing occasional facetoface customer service at our front counter.

As a CSR, you will be assisting customer queries, which will expose you to the many different services that Council provides.

  • The Customer Centre is the place where you can grow and develop as a person and a professional, in a nurturing environment. It is fast paced, rewarding and enables you to learn about all pockets of council (I did not realise we did so much). I started as a trainee Customer Representative and was fortunate to be kept on as a full-time employee (hard work pays off) From there, I had the opportunity to step into a Customer Advocate position, and through the skills I learnt, I now work in the People Safety and Wellbeing Team where our staff are my customers ~ Chelsea
  • I have been with the City of Adelaide for 5 years, and in that time, I have had the opportunity to work in 3 different roles. I started in the Customer Centre as a Customer Service Representative which allowed me to gain knowledge of the wide variety of services council provides to the community. There are always innovative projects and exciting events happening in the City of Adelaide, and working in the Customer Centre means finding out about everything that is going on. I am now in the role of Community Engagement Support Officer, providing support to different areas of council to consult with the community on a variety of future projects. ~ Amy

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a high level of customer satisfaction in a customer service environment.
  • Previous call centre experience would be highly desirable, however we would also love to hear from you if you have fastfood, hospitality or retail experience too
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and operate efficiently, and under pressure to complete work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage challenging clients and situations tactfully and sensitively, and sound numeracy skills.
