Context - The Discipline and the Team:

The topic of Grid Connection is fundamentally important and increasingly challenging for all stakeholders in the NEM, reflective of evolving technical and regulatory challenges, and associated potential risks and costs.

RES Australia (RES Au) recognises that maintaining a strong presence in the sphere of Grid Connection is paramount to our ongoing success in this market.


The Grid Team (the Team) serves the wider RES Au business by providing all Grid Connection deliverables required for the successful progression of the business' Projects within its target market(s).

Core to this function, the Grid Team undertakes and facilitates the end-to-end grid connection process for RES Au's active Projects, progressing the necessary actions towards successful achievement of all necessary regulatory obligations and achievable contractual commitments to allow for safe and efficient operation of the plant.

The Team's deliverables include technical analysis, optimization, strategic guidance to the wider business, industry & market advocacy (including influencing regulatory frameworks such as the National Electricity Rules) and oversight of external resources.

The Team's scope encompasses all of RES Au's target technologies (typically wind, solar and storage), and spans all Project phases from site selection and parsing, through to ongoing commercial operation.


The position:


The Grid Integration Lead is a senior member of the Team responsible for ensuring that the wider business is availed of Team deliverables within specific jurisdictions or for specific projects as allocated by the Manager - Grid Connections.

The Grid Integration Lead(s) facilitate clear communication and visibility of deliverables with stakeholders and assist with the scheduling and prioritization of work within the context on the business' needs.

The Grid Integration Lead is required to possess a deep understanding of the grid infrastructure and regulatory landscape within allocated jurisdictions so that RES Au can locate, develop and integrate projects in a strategic manner that mitigates risk and capitalizes on opportunities.
