About the role:


The role of Staff Specialist Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to ensure that the OPMHs service at Greenwich Hospital functions in a way that aligns with the Mission, Vision and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare, to ensure that the medical and other care provided to patients in OPMH at Greenwich is of high quality.


The essence of this role:


  • Provide demonstrably high quality specialist services for OPMHs inpatients services at Greenwich Hospital;
  • To work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff in a cooperative and collegiate way, evidencing the Mission, Motivation and Mission In Action of HammondCare;
  • Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors, and undertake research in OPMHs as opportunities present.

About you - Essential Criteria

Qualifications | Work Experience | Skills and Competencies:

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action
  • Registered (or registerable) as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry in Australia (AHPRA)
  • FRANZCP or equivalent Consultant qualification, preferably also holding Fellowship of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age
  • Demonstrated sound, effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team
  • Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
  • Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Research Qualification (desirable)
