The Role

The APS3 Logistics Officer works to the Operations Officer of the 4th/19th Prince of Wales's Light Horse Regiment to provide the logístical support to the Regiment's sub-units to meet the directed training requirements assigned by the 2nd Division.

The APS 3 Logistics Officer may coordinate and contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.


They may be a team coach or supervise a team and be accountable to set work priorities, allocate work, and manage workflows and performance.

They are expected to be capable of reviewing and developing the quality of work undertaken by others and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within a work unit.


The APS 3 Logistics Officer will have to work within established practices and may be required to communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes, as well as engage with external stakeholders to provide the required logístical support and find solutions as problems occur.


Within the Logistics Management function an APS 3 Logistics Officer is accountable under direction to perform and achieve moderately complex to complex logistics inventory and asset management within an integrated workforce.

They are accountable to have and maintain a well-developed understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.


About our Team

An APS 3 Logistics Officer will:

  • Be accountable for oganising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to their area of responsibility.
  • Interpret and provide advice within the logistics management function area based on legislation, policy and procedures.
  • Undertake technical research and analysis, conduct reviews, assessment and perform procedural, clerical and administrative support work to achieve results.
  • Be accountable to contribute towards ongoing selfimprovement and professional development as part of the Unit Logistics Team on behalf of the Commanding Officer.
