ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage our 12 bed birthing suites. Mercy Hospital for Women is a major public hospital and specialist referral centre caring for private and public patients across maternity, neonatology, perioperative, gynaecology and women's health services. As a leader in research and teaching and one of only 5 neonatal intensive care units in Victoria, we care for the most unwell mothers and babies throughout their health care journey.

  • The position is Permanent Full Time, Monday to Friday inclusive of ADO's.
  • You will become part of the dynamic, supportive, multidisciplinary team to provide effective leadership and strategic direction within the hospital.
  • You will be supported by the Divisional Director and Deputy Divisional Director Women's and Children's Services to manage the operational, financial, human and information resources within the unit to ensure quality clinical practices and patient/family centred care.

ABOUT YOU:


  • We are seeking a passionate and experienced Midwifery leader to join our team and provide leadership to this unit. You will be enthusiastic and motivated with excellent communication skills, and have a demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, manage and lead staff.
  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife or Registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA.
  • Masters Degree (or working towards) in hospital or health services administration, management or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in Birth Suites.
  • Demonstrated previous clinical leadership and staff change management experience.
  • Awareness of financial and budgetary process.
  • Current Level 3 Practitioner as per the RANZCOG FSEP framework.
