Our team is growing and we are currently seeking people to join us in the position of Operational Performance - Rostering Manager at our Melbourne Airport location, employed on a Full-time basis.


The Position:
The Operational Performance Team is a newly established team and an integral part of security operations at Melbourne Airport.


The Operational Planner position is responsible for, including but not limited to providing operational planning capability to ensure the organisation remains operationally agile and resilient within a dynamic and highly regulated security environment.

This includes the analysis and projection of short to medium term (0-3 months in advance) passenger load, utilising this information to design and fortify the operational plan.


Reporting to the Operational Performance Manager, and working closely with the broader ISS Senior Management Team, the role will be responsible for determining the staff resources required to meet the projected operational demand, providing innovative and timely solutions to existing and emergent risk/capability gaps in addition to leading the business continuity planning process for the organisation.

This role requires availability for a 7 day rotating roster, with 12 hour shifts, (4 days on, 4 days off).

Minimum Criteria:

  • Ability to obtain an ASIC (currently hold an ASIC)
  • Demonstrable strategic planning skill
  • Highly developed problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Have sound understanding of the compliance and legislative requirements surrounding airport security
  • Have sound understanding of ISS Aviation Security capabilities and contractual obligations
  • Exceptional communication skills written and verbal
  • Demonstrable skill in managing stakeholder expectations and relationships
  • Proven ability to work in matrix organisation and maintain effective working relationship
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills (Windows systems, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel competency
  • Extensive experience in operational planning, data analysis, and strategy and operational management
  • Experience in data collection and analysis
  • Experience in generating business insights from data sources
  • Experience in capability development, insight investigation and raw data manipulation
  • Experience in briefing senior management
  • Understanding of data analysis and manipulation methods
  • Data presentation and projections reporting
