The
Value Creation (VC) team sits within the
Transaction Services (TS) division. VC focuses on proactive deal value creation.


The
Pricing & Commercial Strategy practice is part of the VC team that specializes in solving clients' pricing and revenue problems using data and analytics techniques.

We deliver sustainable solutions that improve our clients' short-term and long-term margins.

We work with clients in several sectors, including but not limited to consumer and retail, telco, oil & gas, government, pharmaceuticals, transport, manufacturing, and financial services.


We are recruiting for a
_Associate Director with Pricing / Data Analytics experience._ The role is currently part of KPMG's Value Creation team based in the Sydney office.

This exciting role would have the following core responsibilities and opportunities:


  • Proactively support the development of business proposals and thought leadership.
  • Work alongside Directors/Partners and clients to scope, plan and delegate for effective delivery.
  • Design, recommend, review and deliver pricing (and often complex multidisciplinary) projects.
  • Communicate compellingly and be a trusted adviser to the client's senior management and midlevel executives.
  • Coach and develop team members.

Pricing Analytics, Commercial Strategy, Project Management

  • Lead the initial diagnosis and guide the junior team members to gather data and understand the key topics pertinent to the relevant industry sector and scope of work.
  • Understand current client data landscape and work with the client to navigate the correct data source for driving key analysis with appropriate techniques and tools.
  • Formulate initial hypotheses and analyses based on previous experience, knowledge of the sector and understanding of the scope of work.
  • Extract value creation insights to deliver practical and coherent pricing and commercial recommendations.
  • Design, shape and coordinate the preparation of deliverables that span multiple workstreams, identifying insight and the 'so what'.
  • Anticipate and develop the answers to potential questions and challenges from the client.

Communication:


  • Communicate views and insights (both in writing and verbally) effectively and compellingly to clients and KPMG colleagues.
  • Able to hold strong, trusted adviser relationships with senior management and midlevel executives.
  • Able to develop insightful points on key strategic issues for your chosen sector(s).

Business and Practice Development:


  • Proactively support the development of business proposals and thought leaderships.
  • Support client pitches, bid managing sales efforts, having initial conversations with prospects (supported by Partners and Directors) to shape ideas and opportunities

People:


  • A teamplayer.
  • Coach and develop team members providing highquality developmental feedback.
  • Able to provide constructive and robust challenges to colleagues' work (including upwards) to ensure the highest delivery standards.

Qualifications:


Data analytics, modelling and dashboarding skills

  • Had experience in manipulating, reconciling, analyzing and interpreting large data sets, using tools like Alteryx/SQL/R/Tableau/PowerBI;
  • Had used analytics methods and processes to:
  • To develop algorithms and models to analyze data.
  • To derive cause and effect relationships.
  • To perform customer and price segmentation, scenario analysis and hypothesis testing.

Technical pricing skills and experience

  • Know price data architecture design and development.
  • Have some strategic pricing and revenue experience, including delivering high impact pricing / promotions strategies, programs, execution, analysis or consultancy.
  • Have some pricing model building experience.

Soft pricing skills

  • Ability to show empathy for customers' needs to not overlook signals for psychological pricing completely.
  • Ability to navigate through conflict to tease out the reasons stakeholders object to changing pricing.
  • Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders, especially sales, to identify the significant factors from business perspectives.


In addition to the above, you may have:10 years Pricing or analytics experience gained in corporate roles or consultancy firms.

Tertiary qualification in business / data related disciplines such as Economics, Data Sc
