- Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on all civil and structural engineering matters.

- Structural condition assessments.
- Roadside risk assessments.
- Procurement and management of survey, geotechnical investigation, and environmental assessments.
- Procurement and management of external civil, structural, mechanical, and other engineering services.
- Liaison with external authorities such as TfNSW, Council, other utilities etc.
- Tender evaluations.
- Telecommunication towers (guyed mast and self-supporting) and associated infrastructure
- Transmission Towers (lattice)
- Transmission, Sub-Transmission and Distribution Poles
- Buildings
- Foundations (pads, piles, bunds) for buildings, towers, poles, transformers, circuit breakers
- Steel support structures for substation equipment
- Fire walls
- Retaining walls
- Access Tracks
- Bulk earthworks and pavements
- Bridges and creek crossings
- Stormwater drainage
- Underground HV cable
- Streetlights
- Water Treatment Plants & Sewerage Treatment Plants (as part of the Essential Water business)
- Demonstrated experience as a civil/structural engineer with a background in the design of civil infrastructure, and the design of concrete, steel, and timber structures. Please note this is not a site engineer role.
- Knowledge of geotechnical investigation, survey, environmental assessment, and project management.
- Experience in liaising with authorities (TfNSW, Council and other utilities).
- Experience in using analytical and technical knowledge to manage activities and identify appropriate solutions to technical/engineering matters.
- Strong time management skills with excellent planning and organisational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage diverse and complex issues.
- Be able to obtain and maintain currency in our Electrical Safety Rules (training delivered in-house).
- Exposure to the energy sector (desirable but not critical).
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Structural) to satisfy Professional Membership criterion of Engineers Australia or other Professional Body as aligned to the Washington Accord.
- Demonstrated experience (current) as a practicing civil and/or structural engineer with a background in design.
- Current Australian Drivers Licence.
- A Safework NSW White Card (or willing to obtain).
- Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry and business required licenses, authorisations and other such certificates deemed necessary for the role.

About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Team based anywhere within Essential Energy's operational footprint.
This role will be offered as a 9 day fortnight (72 hour) with a starting rem range of $150, inclusive of 16% Superannuation) + Allowances.
As a Senior Civil Engineer in our Civil Engineering Team, you will join an experienced, capable, and supportive team that provides professional civil and structural engineering services to the organisation, including:
Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer, you will assist in the development of graduate civil engineers, and provide professional engineering services in relation to the following telecommunication, electrical overhead, electrical underground, and electrical substation network assets:
