Following the resignation of one of our outstanding, loyal Team Leaders who has been with us for more than 22 years, we have room for one more superstar to join us.

a chef and who would like daytime hours

a hospitality professional with at least five years expereience as a supervisor

a graduate with tertiary hospitality qualifications

a passionate foodie, or an obsessed home cook keen to make your mark using your gun customer service skills

Established in 1996, The Essential Ingredient is a friendly, multi - cultural, family owned wholesaler of speciality foods, quality cookware and culinary books

with a dynamic customer base that includes some of Melbourne's top restaurants, hotels and retailers

Our Victorian Flagship store adjoins the Prahran Market and is home to our Wholesale and Retail operations

We also have a smaller format, retail store located close to the South Melbourne Market

The Essential Ingredient head office is located in Alexandria NSW, with stores in Albury, Canberra, Orange and Crows Nest and Victoria

What a day can look like

Start your day at the Espresso Machine

Jump in and support the retail team by ensuring all our customers are made to feel welcome in our stores

Take the lead and listen to our diverse customer base to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service to drive sales

Hit the nitty gritty, ensuring your product knowledge is exemplary, execute some savvy merchandising and tick off the daily housekeeping duties

Location and Hours

This role works across both our retail stores in Prahran and South Melbourne including rotating weekend hours
