Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery, improvement, research and education.

We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.

Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is seeking a specialist Radiation Oncologist at The Alfred Hospital and our regional campus, Gippsland Radiation Oncology at Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) in Traralgon.

Head and Neck, Haematology and Generalist Radiation Oncology expertise would be required.

The applicant would need to fit nicely into an established Radiation Oncology team, and comply with Alfred Health management protocols and quality framework.

Sessions would be required to be shared between The Alfred and LRH.

Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is based at The Alfred in Melbourne and administers a regional service for LRH near Traralgon.

The overall service has five Varian Linacs with MLCs, EPIs and dynamic wedges, dedicated multi-slice helical 4D CT scanner and SXR units at each sites.

Eclipse and Brainlab planning is used, with an Aria information management system. There is also a prostate seed brachytherapy program at each site and HDR brachytherapy at The Alfred.

Alfred Health Radiation Oncology is associated with Monash University in research and teaching activities. It has active accredited training programs in the Radiation Oncology professions, including an accredited registrar training program. An interest in Registrar training would be expected.

Applicants must be legally-qualified practitioners; registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency; hold a Fellowship of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology, Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists; have demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in radiation oncology and meet Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Radiation Oncology.
