About the Role

  • A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Analyst
  • Corporate to join the Santos team. Based at our global headquarters in Adelaide and reporting to the Financial Controller
  • Group Financial Reporting, you will be a key member of the team responsible for meeting the external financial statutory reporting and ASX reporting requirements for the Group and its subsidiaries. Along with participating in the diverse Group level reporting obligations of the team, this role will have a core focus on lease accounting and finance governance for the Group and will be able to leverage and learn from the considerable experience within the team.
  • Key duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in the preparation of full-year and half-year Group Financial Statements and various subsidiary financial statements as part of a sizeable team
  • Participate in Group level projects that will drive continuous improvement across the finance function
  • Maintain the Group leases model, prepare all lease related month end journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist with the identification of new lease contracts and the analysis of these contracts under the accounting standards
  • Support the Group Finance Governance processes including internal control monitoring and involvement in entity management activities with the wider Group
  • Develop/maintain a good understanding of accounting standards for selected topics

About you

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Experience in a group finance function within a large organisation, and/or a large Chartered environment preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in report writing for a leadership audience
  • An affinity for working in a fastpaced and high performing, corporate environment where continuous improvement is a cultural norm
  • Degree qualifications with full CA/CPA status or working towards this
