We are currently seeking a Civil Supervisor to join our Team based on our Papua New Guinea project.


As a Civil Supervisor reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will provide Supervision of site employees including planning, monitoring, problem solving and monitoring safety and standard compliance.

Key Responsibilities of the role:


  • Supervise and evaluate workmanship and quality
  • Enforce safe work practices, ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained and supported and that HSE standards are met
  • Complete and document daily prestarts on Light Vehicles
  • Ensure that the project is kept on schedule and within budget
  • Oversee construction, ensuring that it is in compliance with GRES standards
  • Report to and work with the discipline project coordinator where applicable for labour requirements and to ensure compliance with GRES Standards and any applicable Statutory Requirements
  • Ensure the completion of Personal Risk Assessments i.e. Take 5's & Jon Safety Analysis
  • Actively participate and lead by example "Safe Work Practices" and behaviour
  • Attend and participate in the Occupational Health and Safety committee (where elected)
  • Conduct prestart meetings daily
  • Conduct safety tool box meetings
  • Participate in hazard identification, assessment and implementation of controls as identified in the client risk assessment study
  • Take a lead role in incident management notification, investigation and reporting
  • Training, coaching and competency assessment of personnel where applicable
  • Responsible to ensure all site personnel comply with the site quality and environmental requirements
  • Monitor site activities in a way that minimises and controls pollution, guards the environment
  • Ordering of equipment and supplies
  • That the management structures and resources provided for his / her area of responsibility are used effectively to provide compliance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and national standards relating to safety, health, hazard and risk management

Skills/Qualifications:


  • Trade certificate (Construction related) and appropriate Licences
  • Relevant experience in Construction and Mining


  • Section 4

  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Current clean National Police Clearance
