Description

Our client is a leading supplier of ingredients to the Food and Beverage sector and are on the lookout for an exceptional OH&S Manager to join their team in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

This role will be ideal for junior OH&S managers or senior officers looking to step up to a management level and will be offered on a full-time permanent capacity.


As an OH&S Manager, your primary responsibility will be to promote and implement effective occupational health and safety practices within the organisation.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:


  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing OH&S policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Conducting regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Collaborating with department heads and employees to raise awareness about OH&S issues and foster a safetyconscious culture.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Keeping abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices in OH&S and proactively updating policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to OH&S activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety inspections.
  • Managing Workers Compensation administration, monitoring and reporting as well as Return to Work
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Relevant certifications and additional training would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional understanding of Victorian requirements for WorkCover and Return to Work processes
  • Proven experience as an OH&S Officer or a similar role, preferably in
    FMCG
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments featuring pipes and pumps
  • Thorough knowledge of Victorian occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Detailoriented mindset with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • A proactive approach to staying updated on industry developments and emerging trends in OH&S.
