About the role:

***We have an opportunity for a Patient Admissions Officer to join our team. The Patient Admissions Officer is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the collection and verification of patient information for timely referral to Medical Specialist and admission to the centre. Working in a full-time capacity, Monday to Friday, this role will report to the Administration Manager as part of the greater administration team


Key Responsibilities:


  • Liaises with patients and family in a compassionate and friendly manner
  • Ensures accurate collection of new patient information
  • Confirms financial responsibility for all admissions
  • Liaises with health insurance fund customer service personnel to verify health insurance status
  • Communicating clearly with patients and their families to ensure all patients are well informed of financial costs related to admissions
  • Oversee wait room and respond to patient queries
  • Discharge procedures and paperwork

Skills & Experience:


  • 12 months relevant professional medical / hospital reception experience requiring current knowledge and understanding of health insurance funds
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, efficient and friendly manner both overthephone and facetoface
  • Outstanding team member qualities including willing to support your colleagues and positive attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability to complete various administration tasks across Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology units
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook
