The opportunity:


Mission and Scope
Department of Defence is undergoing an ambitious but achievable reform program for sustainment of the RAN's surface fleet.

Key to the new approach is the Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM) and its use of standardised contracts, plans, processes, guides, procedures, and ICT tools by its workforce and across the Maritime Enterprise.

Development of this sovereign sustainment capability is key to ensuring Defence has the workforce, systems, tools, supply chains and infrastructure to support the future fleet and operations.


As part of the MSM Team, the MSM Process Author is accountable to the MSM Team Lead for developing a suite of processes which enable optimisation of the MSM across the Maritime Sustainment Division Enterprise.


Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Ensure process strategies are aligned with the long-term business requirements of the systems program offices and Navy Logistics Systems.
  • Ensure that processes are consistently documented using a practical set of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) standards and process modelling tools.
  • Document processes following the team's Process Governance and Architecture practices defining business rules and templates.
  • Ensure developed processes are compliant with ISO9001 and ISO5500
  • Collaborate with policy authorities to ensure currency and alignment with processes.
  • Develop and implement methodology for continual review, consultation, update, and improvement to baselined processes.
  • Develop standardised processes, procedures and work instructions in a consistent and repeatable format across the enterprise within the Holocentric BMS tool.

Essential:


  • Experience in operational process design using Holocentric or similar BPMN tools.
  • Ability to assess existing workflows and identify options for improvement.
  • Experience understanding and documenting the impacts of change and adapting to processes, business practices and operational requirements.
  • Experience in putting together flow and logic diagrams.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • A current NV1 AGSVA clearance
