Your new role
With the success, growth, and evolution of our Curtin Medical School, we are currently seeking experienced and influential

Domain Leads to join our expanding team.


These positions, available on a part-time, 0.8 FTE basis, form two of four curriculum domains that comprise the MBBS curriculum.


As a Domain lead you will provide educational leadership and oversight of your specialty domain across all five years of the MBBS.

Working with the Director of Medical Education, the Director of Medical Program, Clinical Specialist Leads, Year Coordinators and other key staff who contribute to the development of the MBBS program, you will provide expertise and ongoing review and development of curriculum objectives and content for your domain for Years 1-5.


We are seeking to recruit the following positions:

  • Domain Lead
  • Scientist and Scholar
  • Domain Lead
- Clinical Practitioner


In these roles, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all outcomes are aligned with the AMC Graduate Outcome Statements and Curtin University Graduate Attributes. Including, working within the governance structures and processes of CMS to ensure the quality of curriculum.
  • Developing, embedding, and reviewing knowledge, skills, and attitude learning objectives in patient cases within the problembased learning program.
  • Collaborating with Clinical Specialist Leads on a formal basis to ensure specialty disciplines are appropriately represented and integrated throughout the MBBS.
  • Liaising with Year Coordinators to ensure outcomes are resourced and scheduled in the syllabi for each year, as well as assigning the development of curriculum resources to appropriate educators.
  • Reviewing evaluation data, including feedback from students, with regards to the performance of the curriculum, and making recommendations for improvement where required.
  • Liaising with content experts in relevant to your curriculum domain to ensure the syllabus is serviced and resourced by appropriate personnel.
  • Contributing to assessment writing for related learning objectives, as requested by Assessment Leads, across all years.
  • Providing specific input and advice regarding the teaching and assessment of clinical competence, and personnel and resources for OSCEs and procedural credentialing.

We are looking for people with:

  • A health profession or relevant qualification (degree in medicine with APHRA highly desirable).
  • A postgraduate qualification in education (health professional education highly desirable).
  • A strong understanding of contemporary educational practice in medical education.
  • Curriculum expertise and the ability to work across the delegated domains of the MBBS program.
  • A background in education and healthcare / health professional education, combining your knowledge of curriculum design with health expertise.
  • An emerging record of peer reviewed publications (desirable).
  • Proven high level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching and learning (desirable).
