About the role:


The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) operates to enforce infringements issued across Victoria Police and to positive influence road user behaviour within the State of Victoria.

The division is involved in multiple elements of road safety overseen by Victoria Police and the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

This position supports the division by providing accurate and insightful evaluation of work unit performance, assesses regulation and procedures relevant to infringement enforcement and recommends change to optimise the delivery of RPEDs objectives.

The position engages with internal stakeholders within Victoria Police and liaises with external stakeholders through the relevant line management.

The Policy Officer reports to the Manager, Quality and Compliance Unit and assists the unit by providing analysis and advice, compliance with established processes/policies, whilst maintaining awareness of public issues which influence organisational change.

Your duties will include:


  • Collation, analysis, and delivery of regular and bespoke reporting from multiple sources and information formats.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on initiatives which impact the operation of infringement enforcement.
  • Summarise and document changes to processes for dissemination to different work units.
  • Maintain and update policy and operation manuals used within the division.
  • Provide evidencebased and wellreasoned responses to business case submissions.
  • Correspondence template management.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to prioritise and complete regular and adhoc tasking under competing timeframes.
  • Demonstrated a willingness to be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
  • Sound stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • An ability to conduct own research and present findings in a clear and concise format for review/referral to all levels of the organisation.
  • An ability to understand the impacts of proposed or incoming policy changes on the division and wider command.

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • VPS3 salary range $72,751 $88,336 per annum + super + leave loading.
  • This position is located at 277 William Street, Melbourne but may involve working at other Victoria Police facilities as required.
